Method of production

Industrial production of phosphoric acid is possible through two methods.

Wet process in which a phosphate-containing mineral such as calcium hydroxyapatite is treated with sulfuric acid.

Ca5(PO4)3OH + 5H2SO4 -> 3H3PO4 + 5CaSO4v + H2O

Method of production of phosphoric acid food grade

In the first stage, for the production of elemental phosphorus, phosphate rock is reduced by coke in an electric arc furnace. It is then produced by the addition of calcium silicate. The initial phosphorus is then separated from the furnace during the distillation process and converted to high purity phosphorus pentoxide by the combustion reaction with air. It dissolves in water and produces phosphoric acid.

phosphoric acid (tech grade) is used for the production of phosphates, electrolyte purification fluids, chemical purification, refractory mortar. In addition, it is used as a catalyst, desiccant and detergent in many industries. Phosphoric acid is used as a stainless-steel coating for metals in the coating industry. Food industries 85% phosphoric acid is used as a food agent as an acidity regulator and flavoring in the production of various foods such as canned food and soft drinks, as well as a food source for yeast in wine production.

phosphoric acid in coca cola

phosphoric acid 85% with E338 is a food additive that should not be confused with dangerous acids. It is safe for oral use and is used in the production of many foods such as cola drinks. The pH level is below 1. To work with this substance, it is necessary to study its MSDS and review the necessary licenses for its use. People handling this material must have appropriate safety clothing and equipment and safety must be observed during transportation.

It is used in the production of soda, beer and cola drinks. Also, in the production of dessert salad sauces, phosphoric acid85% is used as a pH control and flavoring.

Regular consumption of cola and beverages containing phosphoric acid causes tooth decay and osteoporosis, especially in women. In general, women are more prone to the side effects of using sugary and caffeinated products than men.

This acid irritates the skin in moderate concentrations. Contact of concentrated solutions of this acid with the skin can cause severe skin burns and also contact of this acid with the eye in high concentrations can cause serious damage and even blindness. For this reason, it is essential to observe safety tips and proper coverage when working with this material.
