When ATMP dissolve in water it will dissociate to six positive and negative ions and can make stable chelate with metal ions. it can chelate with metal ions such as iron, copper, aluminum, zinc, calcium, magnesium, etc.

ATMP is usable in petrochemicals, power plants, improving high water hardness, industrial cleaners, electroplating, corrosion inhibitor, etc.it is an effective scale inhibitor that uses in water treatment industries. ATMP also uses as a corrosion inhibitor for zinc and other phosphates.

Production

For producing ATMP phosphorous acid and ammonium chloride are poured into the reactor and heated during stirring to will be dissolved, after that formaldehyde will be added dropwise and ATMP is formed.
